Stronger Communities Grant Update
⛳ Not This Time… But We’re Still Swinging! 🎯
Well folks, we didn’t quite land the hole-in-one this round. Pyramid Hill Golf Club's application for the Stronger Communities Programme Round 9 didn’t make it to the next phase. While we’re a little disappointed, we’re definitely not discouraged — and we wanted to share a bit about what we were aiming for and why this project is still very much alive!
💡 What Was the Plan?
We were pitching to bring something seriously exciting to Pyramid Hill — a golf simulator! Not just for fun (though, trust us, it's a blast), but to:
Keep the club active during our off-season,
Open the doors to everyone — non-golfers, juniors, and curious newcomers,
Provide year-round, weather-proof recreational opportunities,
Offer tech-savvy tournaments and coaching sessions,
And create a new revenue stream to help secure the club’s future.
The idea? A two-stage simulator setup that transforms our humble clubhouse into a digital driving range. Think of it like a bowling alley, but for golf — fun, social, and very Pyramid Hill.
🙌 Why It Matters
Golf isn’t just about birdies and pars. It’s about community, mental health, learning new skills, and yes — a little bit of friendly competition.
Thanks to the support of Golf Australia, we know the numbers stack up. Golf contributes over across the Loddon Shire, with social, economic, and even environmental wins. We’re aiming to do our part — and do it with style.
🎯 So What’s Next?
We’re not packing away the clubs! This is just the beginning. We’ll continue applying for grants, refining our plans, and staying nimble. And if you thought we were going to stop at one “no,” you don’t know the Pyramid Hill crew very well 😉
